How To Clean A Braided Area Rug At Home

Take your rope rug outside and shake it thoroughly.  Or you can hang it over a railing and beat it with a broom to release any dust particles that may have accumulated.

Start off by preparing a solution of half white vinegar, half water. Then scrub brush to remove any stains from the rug once it has been laid flat. Avoid using soap since it can become stuck in the fibers of the rope and produce a white residue.

Using a high-pressure hose, spray the rug well. You can take the rug to the car wash and spray the dirt out of it with plain water if your garden hose doesn’t have enough pressure to get rid of the ground-in dirt.

Dry your braided rope rug by hanging it up. Allow it to dry thoroughly on both sides before taking it back into the house or office. A warm day in the sun will help to speed up the drying time of the towel.
